Prayers for Continuity

The following prayers are official prayers of the Continuity of the Americas Movement. They should be prayed during Holy Hours, prayer and study “reunions,” and apostolic groups. May be offered individually.

Mary Stuart's Prayer
Keep us, O God,from all pettiness;
Let us be large in thought, in word, in deed.
Let us be done with fault-finding
And leave off all self-seeking.
May we put away all pretense
And meet each other face to face
Without self-pity
And without prejudice.

May we never be hasty in judgment
And always generous.
Let us take time for all things,
And make us to grow calm, serene and gentle.
Teach us to put into action our better impulses,
Straight forward and unafraid.

Grant that we may realize
That it is the little things of life that create differences,
That in the big things of life we are as one.
And, O Lord, God, let us not forget to be kind! Amen.

Continuity Prayer for the Americas
We thank you, Lord Jesus, because the Gospel of
the Father’s love, with which you came to save the
world, has been proclaimed far and wide in the
Americas as a gift of the Holy Spirit that fills us
with gladness. Increase, O Lord, our faith and our
love for you, present in all the tabernacles of the
continent.

You, who in becoming man, chose to belong to
a human family, teach families the virtues which
filled with light the family home of Nazareth.
Help them to be the source of vocations to the
priesthood and the consecrated life, and all the
other forms of firm Christian commitment.

Protect your Church and the Successor of Peter, to
whom you, Good Shepherd, have entrusted the task
of feeding your flock. Grant that the Church in the
Americas may flourish and grow richer in the fruits of
holiness. Teach us to love your Mother, Mary, as you
loved her. Give us strength to proclaim your word
with courage in the work of the new evangelization,
so that the world may know new hope.

Renewal of Baptismal Vows
I renounce Satan and all his works and pomps,
And I bind myself to You, Jesus Christ, forever.
I pledge allegiance to Your Vicar on earth, Pope N.,
And resolve to work for the salvation of souls,
Practicing and spreading the official teachings of the Catholic Church
According to my own capacity.

O Mary, Immaculate Queen,

Prayer to Our Lady of Guadalupe
Our Lady of Guadalupe, mystical rose, make intercession for holy Church, protect the Sovereign Pontiff, help all those who invoke thee in their necessities, and since thou art the ever Virgin Mary and Mother of the true God, obtain for us from thy most holy Son the grace of keeping our faith, sweet hope in the midst of the bitterness of life, burning charity and the precious gift of final perseverance.
